Guess the missing month for crimes for my fictional sleuths

I run a feature in my monthly newsletter that focuses on my crime novels set in that month.  Having gone through all my twenty nine crime novels published, and the two to come in 2025, I realise I have got a month where no crime is committed! I'm going to have to rectify that.

Searching through the DI Andy Horton Solent Murder Mystery series, the 1950s set Inspector Ryga mysteries, and those featuring my former Royal Marine Commando now an undercover agent for the police, Art Marvik, as well as my two standalone early thrillers I find the missing month is JUNE!  Perhaps it's too hot then in England for my fictional sleuths to operate?  Perhaps they're all on holiday!

It was also the same for July but this will be remedied when Inspector Ryga number six is published, probably in 2026.

The DI Andy Horton I am also currently writing (20) is set in January, the new Ryga in July and the new Marvik mystery due to be published in 2025 set in September it’s going to be a while before any of them encounter a crime in June.   Maybe I’ll will write a brand new crime novel with a brand new hero - a one off perhaps, or the start of a new series? Failing that I will just have to write a few more Andy Horton's and let him have a couple of month’s crime free.

April set crime novelsAs this blog is written in April here the April set crime novels:

DI Andy Horton, Solent Murder Mystery

The Chale Bay Murders (7)

Suspicious lights at sea, decomposing bodies and an old flame send Detective Inspector Andy Horton down a rabbit hole in this captivating crime thriller.

The Luccombe Bay Murders (15)

A man is found dead inside a log cabin nestled in Luccombe Bay on the Isle of Wight. He has no ID on him and no one knows who he is. Except Detective Inspector Andy Horton . . .

The Art Marvik mystery thrillers:

Lost Voyage (3)

A murdered man... a woman being framed for his killing... Mavik's in a desperate battle to stop a ruthless assassin

And my standalone thriller:

In for the Kill

What happens to one man when his identity is stolen. For Alex Albury the nightmare that destroyed his life will only end in death; his or his tormentor’s.
